Adana's historic centre includes the Roman-period Taşköprü across the Seyhan River, linking Seyhan and Yüreğir. The bridge was closed to motor vehicles after restoration in 2006. Nearby, the Sabancı Merkez Mosque, built between 1988 and 1998, has six minarets. The Ulu Mosque belongs to the sixteenth-century Ramazanoğlu period, while the Great Clock Tower was completed in 1882.
The Çukurova State Symphony Orchestra was formally established in 1988, began rehearsing in late 1991 under Emin Güven Yaşlıçam and gave its first concert on 5 January 1992. Alongside its concert seasons and festival appearances, the orchestra has taken educational performances to schools, prisons and agricultural workers. Its official address is the Adana Metropolitan Municipality Concert Hall.
