Bansko’s cultural heritage is concentrated in its historic houses, church and museums. Holy Trinity Church was built in 1835 by local craftsmen on the initiative of the merchant Lazar German. The church, bell tower and enclosing walls form a protected architectural complex associated with the Bulgarian National Revival.
The town’s museum network includes the houses of Nikola Vaptsarov and Neofit Rilski, Velyan’s House, Radonova House, an exhibition of icons from the Bansko painting school and the historical centre dedicated to Paisiy Hilendarski. These sites connect domestic architecture with literature, education and religious art. Music adds another dimension through the Bansko Jazz Festival. Its published 2026 main-stage programme covered 31 July to 9 August and included Bulgarian and international performers, illustrating the continuing place of live music alongside the town’s historical collections.
