Chianciano Terme

Chianciano Terme's archaeological museum places the town's association with thermal waters within a much longer history. Housed in a former granary in the historic centre, it presents Etruscan funerary objects, reconstructed tomb settings and evidence of agricultural life. Canopic jars from the Tolle necropolis give a particularly direct image of ancient burial customs. Finds from the farm at Poggio Bacherina illuminate wine production, while terracotta decoration from the Fucoli temple introduces the religious life of the area. Roman villas add a later chapter. Together, these collections connect the landscape of the spa town with ancient work, ritual and settlement.
