Karel Hubáček and his team designed the Teplice house of culture, built between 1981 and 1986 where the historic town meets the spa quarter on Mírové náměstí. Its main space is a concert hall for up to 585, its curved roof following the acoustics inside; a social hall, a cinema and smaller rooms complete the plan, and a kinetic-acoustic piece by Vratislav Novák hangs in the stairwell. The North Czech Philharmonic keeps its box office in the building.
