Derida Stage Club

Bulgaria's first centre devoted to contemporary dance grew out of an idea shared in 2010 by the cultural manager Atanas Maev and the choreographer Jivko Jelyazkov, working through the Art Link Foundation. For nine years the company had training rooms, residencies and international partners but no stage of its own; that changed in April 2019, when Derida Stage opened at 32 Tsar Samuil Street in central Sofia. The room is small, flexible and dedicated to new work — dance above all, and the talk, music and theatre that gather around it.
