Drama and Puppet Theatre "Ivan Radoev"

Pleven's theatre carries a double name because it carries a double company: a drama ensemble and a puppet theatre under one management, a Bulgarian arrangement that keeps two crafts and two audiences in the same building. It is named for Ivan Radoev, the poet and playwright, whose work belongs to the repertoire it inherited. Beyond spoken theatre the house serves Pleven as its largest stage — touring opera arrives there, and the Katya Popova Laureate Days, the vocal festival named for the Pleven-born soprano, use it for concerts and staged performances.
