Ethias Theatre

Hasselt, capital of Belgian Limburg, keeps its principal auditorium at the heart of a municipal cultural centre, where touring drama, dance, opera and orchestral programmes share one stage across a season assembled almost entirely from visitors. The house has carried a succession of corporate names — Ethias, the Belgian insurer, among them. Sponsored naming is common practice in Flemish civic venues, and the building has answered to more than one title in recent decades.
