Freilichtbühne Killesberg

Cut into the slope of the Höhenpark as the park itself was laid out in 1939, the Killesberg open-air stage is a protected monument and the one purpose-built amphitheatre of its kind in Stuttgart. It stood largely idle for decades, came back into full use as a central venue during the international garden exhibition of 1993, and has kept a regular summer season since 2000, running from June to September. Naming sponsors have come and gone; the grass bowl, the stone tiers and the trees behind the stage have not.
