The Freilichtbühne Maria Ruh is an open-air stage at the Maria Ruh viewpoint in Urbar, opposite the Loreley on the Rhine. Developed as a smaller counterpart to the stage across the river, it provides a setting for cultural events serving the village and the surrounding Middle Rhine region. Local associations and community groups were given access to the stage without a usage charge as part of the project’s public benefit. The development received LEADER support through the Upper Middle Rhine Valley partnership. Its performance activity includes the Maria Ruh Classix series, which became an established part of the regional events calendar. Maria Ruh is a viewpoint above the Rhine at Urbar in the Rhein-Hunsrück-Kreis, looking across the river to the Loreley rock. Besides a café, breakfast terrace and beer garden the site keeps an open-air stage; concerts run through a season that lasts roughly from late March to the end of October, gathered in recent years under the name MariaLIVE. A Nabucco programme with orchestra was given on the clifftop in August 2020.
