Lira Music Foundation

Twice in 2007 the Lyra Foundation filled the Dohodno Zdanie in Ruse. On 6 January it mounted a New Year's concert built from Johann Strauss II, Verdi, Rossini, Kalman and Puccini, with Tsvetelina Maldjanska, Anna Gemedjieva, Daniela Karaivanova, Momchil Milanov, Stoika Milanova and Zvezdelina Jordanova. On 26 May it set the Rousse Philharmonic Orchestra to a far heavier pairing: Vladigerov's Bulgarian Rhapsody "Vardar", op. 16 followed by Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, sung by Mariana Zvetkova, Georgi Sultanov, Andreana Nikolova and Plamen Beykov.
