The Markgrafensaal is Schwabach's largest event venue, situated close to the town centre. Its 602-square-metre hall, including a gallery, can be arranged for concerts, banquets, conferences and exhibitions. The foyer provides additional space for receptions and exhibition openings. Used by cultural promoters, associations and private organisers, the building accommodates both public performances and the town's civic and social events. Schwabach, a Franconian town long held by the margraves of Brandenburg-Ansbach and famous for the beaten gold leaf its craftsmen still produce, takes the name of those margraves for its municipal hall. The Markgrafensaal is a working civic room: concerts, touring productions, congresses and the town's own occasions pass across it in turn.
