Meininger Hof

The Meininger Hof is a listed cultural and conference venue in Saalfeld an der Saale. Its restored Great Hall is a regular home venue of the Thüringer Symphoniker Saalfeld-Rudolstadt, while the broader programme includes cabaret, concerts and family entertainment. The centre is operated by the municipal Kulturbetrieb Saalfeld, established in 2003. Its combination of orchestral performance and civic events continues a cultural use of the building extending over more than a century. On the Saale at Saalfeld, in a Thuringian town best known for its coloured grottoes, the Meininger Hof is the principal hall for a district that supports a full symphony orchestra between two towns. The Thüringer Symphoniker Saalfeld-Rudolstadt divide their subscription concerts between Saalfeld and neighbouring Rudolstadt, and the Meininger Hof takes the Saalfeld share. Schubert has featured in its symphonic programmes.
