Set up in Warsaw on 31 December 1956 as a state enterprise, the Polish Artistic Agency was the channel through which Polish performers were booked abroad and foreign artists brought into the country; it also co-organised the Sopot song festivals. Its offices moved from Senatorska Street to plac Zwycięstwa in February 1970. A ministerial order of 15 November 1992 wound the enterprise up, and it was reconstituted as a limited company of the same name.
