The Rhein-Sieg-Halle in Siegburg opened on 2 September 2006 with a UNICEF charity gala featuring classical music, operetta and jazz. Its programme developed to include concerts, theatre, comedy and regional carnival events, with visiting performers such as Herman van Veen, Gloria Gaynor and Senta Berger. Municipal management began in 2013. An extension launched in 2019 led to the opening of the enlarged complex as the Rhein Sieg Forum in 2021. Alongside its cultural programme, the venue accommodates conferences, political meetings and civic debate. The redevelopment also created an outdoor seating area on the forecourt, named Platz der Begegnung through public consultation. Siegburg's largest hall opened on 2 September 2006 to a design by Wolfgang Amsoneit, seating 1,448 in rows between Bachstraße and Ringstraße and serving as the principal event space of the whole Rhein-Sieg district. An extension completed in June 2021 added conference rooms, enlarged the foyer and gave the building a second, smaller auditorium; with the works came a new name, Rhein-Sieg-Forum, and a redesigned forecourt for open-air use.
