Sofia Music Enterprises

Sofia Music Enterprises was founded in June 1991 by Dimitar Kovachev, known as Funky, and Ivan Nestorov. The company promotes concerts and tours by international and Bulgarian performers, with a programme ranging from rock and pop to jazz and large-scale film-music productions. Its projects have brought artists including Madonna, Metallica, Chick Corea and Hans Zimmer to Bulgarian audiences. Through its ABA agency it also organises appearances by Bulgarian musicians at home and abroad. The company developed several Sofia music venues: Funky’s Pub opened in 1995, Mr Punch in 1998, Funky’s Music Hall in 2004 and Music Jam in 2019. Founded in June 1991 by Dimitar Kovachev — Funky — and Ivan Nestorov, the company has put on more than a thousand concerts in Bulgaria, from Deep Purple to Madonna and Lady Gaga, and works with Live Nation. It has built its own rooms in Sofia: Funky's Pub in 1995, Mr Punch in 1998, Funky's Music Hall at the NDK in 2004 and Music Jam in 2019. Its Hills of Rock festival has run in Plovdiv since 2017.
