Stadthalle Aalen

Aalen's municipal hall stands on the Berliner Platz and dates from 1959. It is run by the city's own events arm, aalen.kultur&event, and serves as a general-purpose room: trade fairs, congresses and balls alongside the touring-theatre and concert business, for which it keeps a sunken orchestra pit and a separate concert room. The Aalener Jazzfest, first held in 1990, has used it as its main stage for some thirty years, and the Naturtheater Heidenheim brings its annual winter production here. The town also runs a small municipal theatre, founded in 1991, and a symphony orchestra formed in 1977.
