Stadthalle Hockenheim was established in 1991 as a municipal conference and events centre on Rathausstraße. Its approximately 1,600 square metres of floor space can be arranged for cultural events, exhibitions, seminars and gala evenings, with total capacity reaching 1,250 according to the configuration. The venue combines performance and civic functions within the town centre. It also operates the Rondeau restaurant, while an adjacent hotel supports visitors attending conferences and other events. The adaptable rooms allow the same building to serve both seated cultural programmes and larger public gatherings. Opened in 1991 and run by the municipal Stadthallen-Betriebsgesellschaft mbH, the hall gives Hockenheim — a town otherwise known for its motor-racing circuit — its main indoor stage. Some 1,600 square metres are divided between a large hall, a small hall separable into three and a foyer, with seated layouts from fifty to just under a thousand and up to 1,250 people admitted in all. Congresses, trade fairs and product launches share the calendar with theatre, comedy and touring concerts.
