Summer Theatre "Kaylaka"

Kaylaka Park lies south of Pleven in the limestone gorge of the Tuchenitsa, a landscape of cliffs, water and woodland that the town has treated as its garden for generations. The open-air theatre set among the rocks carries Pleven's summer season, and its scale suits large forces — Verdi's Aida and Nabucco have both been mounted there under the sky, with chorus, orchestra and a full stage picture. Out of season the amphitheatre stands empty, and the park returns to walkers.
