Thames Chamber Orchestra

Named for the river that runs through the capital, this is a chamber orchestra of the kind London sustains in numbers: a body drawn from the city's freelance players for concert series, galas and touring engagements, at home in the baroque and classical repertoire that suits strings with a few winds. Such ensembles are the working tissue of London's musical life, and they take their identities, as this one does, from its geography.
