The Theater an der Blinke is a performance venue in Leer, East Frisia, used by the Landesbühne Niedersachsen Nord for its touring productions. The company brings its own casts and creative teams to the hall as part of a regional theatre programme. Its announced 2026–27 season in Leer includes Shakespeare’s Macbeth, the musical play Spatz und Engel about Edith Piaf and Marlene Dietrich, and contemporary drama. The venue’s role is closely tied to this continuing network of performances beyond the company’s home city. Leer stands where the Leda meets the Ems, an East Frisian trading town with a gabled harbour front and a long habit of looking west towards the Netherlands. Its theatre, named after the Blinke, is the municipality's principal stage: visiting plays, concerts, operetta and productions for children rather than a resident company.
