Baritone
Biography
Alexander Tinkov was born in Sofia and began his musical schooling at the Veselin Stoyanov school of music in Ruse, in the classical singing class of Georgi Deliganev. He took his degree from the vocal faculty of the Pancho Vladigerov Academy of Music in Sofia in the class of Elena Kiselova, and a master's degree from the faculty of theory, composition and conducting, where he studied choral conducting with Vassil Arnaudov; he later studied orchestral conducting with Vassil Kazandjiev. His repertory is the central baritone line of the Italian, Russian and German literature, and he has sung on the opera stages of Ruse, Pleven, Burgas, Sofia and in the United States. Rigoletto, Eugene Onegin and Michele in Puccini's Il tabarro were among his roles, and Varna and Stara Zagora belong with the other Bulgarian houses he sang in, as do appearances in France, Switzerland, Spain and Italy. He worked as a choral conductor alongside the singing, and died in 2020.
