Tenor
Biography
Trained at the Arcangelo Corelli Conservatory in his native Messina and launched by the Giuseppe Di Stefano competition, Antonino Siragusa made his debuts in 1996 — Don Ottavio in Lecce, Nemorino in Pistoia — and has been a bel canto tenor since. Rossini is the centre of it: Count Almaviva, Ramiro, Lindoro, Rodrigo and Arnold, sung at the Rossini Opera Festival and at opera houses including the Vienna State Opera, La Scala, the Metropolitan, the Bavarian State Opera, the Teatro Real, Berlin, Paris, Barcelona, Tokyo. Mozart, Donizetti and the French roles fill out the rest. His teacher at the conservatory was Antonio Bevacqua, and the Di Stefano competition he won was held in Trapani. Count Ory and Elvino in La sonnambula also belong to his repertoire.
