Baltajan appeared as a violin soloist at the Thracia Summer Music Festival in Plovdiv in 1998. She comes from a Plovdiv musical family and studied violin with her father, the teacher Garo Baltayan, before a performing career that has taken her to Switzerland and the United States. A review of the period places her in the Virtuosi and Masterpieces project in Plovdiv, alongside Micho Dimitrov and Kevork Mardirossian, with the Sofia Soloists under Plamen Dzhurov.
