Soprano
Biography
Pleven took Dominique Dethier as soloist with its philharmonic orchestra in 2021, and Sofia heard her again. A German soprano, she was on stage early as a pianist, with Paul Buck, before taking her vocal studies to Frankfurt, to Würzburg with the bass-baritone Sven Fürst, and to Salzburg with Mario Diaz at the Mozarteum. Under the director Holger Klembt in Würzburg she sang La Grande Prêtresse in Rameau's Hippolyte et Aricie, Giunone in Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria, Vénus in Orphée aux enfers, Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro and the Baroness Irene in Haydn's La vera costanza. She has performed as a soloist with the Dommusik at Salzburg Cathedral and of the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic's Suono Melodioso ensemble, third laureate of the Medici International Music Competition for voice in 2021 and first laureate of the Amadeus International Music Awards in 2023. In Pleven and at Bulgaria Hall her part was Mozart's Donna Anna. In 2024 she received a scholarship for the MozartLabor at the Mozartfest in Würzburg.
