Biography
Raina Kabaivanska's masterclass closed with a gala concert in Sofia on 24 September 2009, and there Dorotea Doroteeva sang with the Sofia Philharmonic beside Diana Vasileva, Darina Linkova, Kiril Sharbanov and Nona Krastnikova. She trained as a pianist at the Lyubomir Pipkov school before reading opera singing at the Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music with Ivanka Ninova, and then spent four years in the opera studio in Graz, where her parts included the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro and Donna Anna. Scholarships of the Boris Christoff Foundation took her four times to the Santa Cecilia academy in Rome, to Mirella Parutto and Renata Scotto, and the New Bulgarian University sent her to Raina Kabaivanska in Modena. Her stage debut came as Leonora in Il trovatore at Craiova, where she also sang Micaëla.
