Harp
Biography
December 2007 took Duccio Lombardi into the studio with the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra to record music by the flautist and composer Karin Leitner: her overture The Magic of Earth, her Prelude, and the Two Pieces for Flute and Harp, in which the Italian harpist plays opposite the composer herself. Lombardi studied with Giuliana Albisetti at the Giuseppe Verdi conservatory and afterwards at the Rubin Academy, and has played at St Martin-in-the-Fields in London and in the Musikverein, with orchestras in Italy, Portugal and Israel. His touring with Karin Leitner has taken in David Punshon's Concerto for Flute and Harp, given with the Cape Town Philharmonic, and at the International Harp Contest in Israel in 1998 he took the prize for the best performance of Jan Freidlin's Sonata in Three Visions.
