Giulio Bosetti

Sofia heard Giulio Bosetti in 2020, when he appeared as a soloist with the city's Philharmonic on a programme he shared with Mincho Minchev. Bosetti was born in 1977 in Fossano, Italy. He began on the piano at the Baravalle music institute in his home town, studied oboe at the Cuneo Conservatory with R. Turola and took further study at the Amsterdam music academy with Jan Sprong. He has played in the orchestras of La Scala, Teatro Regio Turin and the Verdi Orchestra of Milan, and in 2011 won a competition for cor anglais and oboe with the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra, and subsequently worked with Bulgarian ensembles. In August 2020 he appeared with Mincho Minchev and the Sofia Philharmonic under Nayden Todorov in a programme including Bach's concerto for violin and oboe. He has also been included in chamber-concert programmes presented by Sofia Opera and Ballet.
