Baritone
Biography
Two young-artist schemes carried Grisha Martirosyan to the international houses — the Mascarade programme and the Jette Parker Artists Programme at the Royal Opera House. He had trained at the Komitas Conservatory in Yerevan, where he took his master's degree in 2021, and at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Competitions came alongside them: first prize at the Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition, second at the Magda Olivero competition, and a place in the Belvedere final in 2023. His student performances included scenes as Figaro, Belcore, Malatesta, Germont, Enrico and Eugene Onegin. The Mascarade programme was based in Florence, and he joined the Jette Parker scheme in 2023, the year of his Salzburg debut in Macbeth and of a first prize and an audience prize at the Virgilijus Noreika competition; the Veronica Dunne prize had come in 2022. His Covent Garden parts in 2023/24 included Marullo, Angelotti and Moralès.
