Iliana Selimska

September 2001 found Iliana Selimska in a gala at Bulgaria Hall, singing with the orchestra of the Sofia Opera in a programme of arias by Mozart, Rossini, Donizetti, Verdi, Puccini, Bizet and Massenet — one of the early cohorts of the Sofia master classes. A harpist as much as a singer, Selimska spent more than thirty years as a soloist of the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra, and she attended the Kabaivanska master classes at New Bulgarian University in both 2001 and 2002. She died in 2024, at fifty-seven.
