Soprano
Biography
Ten years on stage — from 2007 to 2017 as a soloist of the Comic Opera for Children in Bucharest, and as a guest with the Romanian National Opera — preceded Ioana Damian's turn to music education. She graduated from the George Enescu National College of Music in 2000 and studied classical singing at the National University of Music in Bucharest between 2000 and 2006; afterwards came the Jaques-Dalcroze method in Geneva and the Orff approach in Salzburg. She leads MIMA Muzica in Brașov, where she has built programmes in early musical training, singing and piano, and she recorded the vocal parts of the children's albums Cântecele lui Zélie. Her stage work in Bucharest included Haydn's Lo speziale, and the songs she recorded for Cântecele lui Zélie are by Anne-Claire Rey-Bellet.
