Ivaylo Zvezdomirov

The bass guitar arrived when Ivaylo Zvezdomirov was fifteen, in Ruse, where he was born in 1972; a master's degree from the pop and jazz department of the Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music in Sofia followed in 1996. What came after has crossed genres rather than settled in one. He played in Georgi Borisov's Dynamite Brass Band until 1999 and in the Big Band of Bulgarian National Radio until 2002, co-founded the rock group TE in 2000, and has spent much of his working life in studios and in the house bands of Bulgarian television, from Music Idol to X Factor. In 2009 he took part in the Plovdiv performance of Jon Lord's Concerto for Group and Orchestra, on stage with the composer, the singer Doogie White and Katarzyna Łaska. He taught bass guitar at New Bulgarian University between 2003 and 2006 and teaches at the Centre for Musical Arts in Sofia. Yildiz Ibrahimova and Kamelia Todorova are among the singers he has worked with.
