Jiman Wee

Born in South Korea in 1992, Jiman Wee studied at home before going to the Mozarteum University in Salzburg to work with Pierre Amoyal. Prizes in Korean competitions were followed by international recognition at the Munetsugu Angel Violin Competition in Japan and at the Joseph Haydn International Competition, and by early concerto appearances with the Seoul Philharmonic and the Seoul Chamber Ensemble. In October 2025 he took Bruch's First Violin Concerto on a four-concert tour with the Vogtland Philharmonie, playing it in Reichenbach, Greiz, Langen and Salzburg. At the Munetsugu competition in 2009 he took third prize, playing the final round with the Central Aichi Symphony Orchestra, and a further distinction came at the Joseph Haydn competition in 2010. His training has included festivals and academies at Nice, in the Alps and at Asago.
