Jimmy Napes

Writing's on the Wall, the Spectre title song Napes co-wrote with Sam Smith in 2015, won the Academy Award and the Golden Globe for best original song. Born James Napier in London in 1984, he had already written Stay with Me with Smith and Tourist — the Grammy song of the year for 2015 — and co-wrote and co-produced much of Smith's debut album In the Lonely Hour. He came up through London dance music, working with Disclosure and Clean Bandit, and has since written and produced for Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, Stormzy and Madonna. He also records under his own name.
