Kaloyan Hristov

Through the 2010s Kaloyan Hristov sang at the State Opera Ruse: Shostakovich's The Nose and Katerina Izmailova, Verdi's Il trovatore, Offenbach's Les contes d'Hoffmann. In 2014 he appeared with Kaludi Kaludov at Ruse and in Sofia. Those seasons, and the Shostakovich among them, fall within the years when Nayden Todorov directed the company. A bass, he studied opera singing with the vocal teacher Georgi Kuzmanov and took his degree in music-theatre singing at the New Bulgarian University; he became a soloist of the State Opera Ruse in 2011. From 2012 to 2014 he sang bass in the Sofia chamber choir In Sacris.
