Biography
Three years in succession, Kiril Sharbanov sang in the Sofia gala concerts of Raina Kabaivanska's international master classes — in 2009, 2010 and 2011 — in programmes that ran from Mozart and Rossini to Verdi, Puccini, Gounod, Massenet and the Bulgarian operatic repertory. He graduated from the Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music in 2008, having sung Don Anchise in La finta giardiniera, Beppe in Rita and Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi while still a student, and worked with Mati Pinkas and at the Boris Christoff Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Rome and the Accademia di Santa Cecilia. He was a laureate of the Nadezhdi, talanti, maystori competition in Dobrich and Albena, and at the 2009 master class he took the scholarship of Raina Kabaivanska's foundation, which led to a year of study with her in Modena and to concerts in Siena and Carpi. He has sung Gluck's Le cinesi, Mozart's Così fan tutte and Apollo et Hyacinthus and Puccini's La bohème in Sofia, Burgas, Varna, Stara Zagora and Blagoevgrad, and appeared with the Sofia Philharmonic, the Vidin Philharmonic, the Gabrovo Chamber Orchestra and the Sofia Soloists.
