Krasimir Shterev

Krasimir Shterev studied the violin in Plovdiv — at the Dobrin Petkov National School of Music and Dance with Elena Doikova, then at the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts with Nedelcho Todorov. In 1990 he founded the student quartet Forte and led it for three years on tours to England, France, Switzerland and Germany. He played in the Plovdiv Philharmonic between 1993 and 1996 and afterwards in the Vienna Walzer Orchestra. Varna has been his base since the middle of the 2000s: he won the national competition for concertmaster of the State Opera there in 2009, leads the city's chamber orchestra and its Sinfonietta, and has been concertmaster of Camerata Orphica since 2012.
