Lucia Mihalache

A Romanian singer, Lucia Mihalache has appeared with the Oleg Danovski National Opera and Ballet Theatre in Constanța. Raised in the countryside, she began the piano at seven with Liliana Nazare, and took up classical singing in the ninth grade at the Art Lyceum in Constanța with Aida Abagief, her first singing teacher. She read at the National University of Music in Bucharest, in the Faculty of Musical Performance, and began working with the Oleg Danovski theatre while still a student. Her debut there came in 2002 in Cavalleria rusticana; she was engaged as a lyric artist that autumn, and in 2004 won the competition that made her a vocal soloist. Opera, vocal-symphonic works, operetta and film music have all had a place in her work, and she has toured the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy and Germany. By 2020 she had been on the company's roster for eighteen years.
