Biography
Born in Sofia in 1993, Martin Hafizi began classical percussion at the age of six, studied at the National School of Music "Lyubomir Pipkov" in Sofia and then took a jazz bachelor's and a pop master's degree at Codarts in Rotterdam. He has appeared as a soloist with the Sofia Symphony Orchestra and the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra, played in Tatiana Koleva's Youth Percussion Formation, and worked as readily in jazz as in the concert hall. On 10 June 2013 he was among the percussionists in the Musician of the Year 2012 gala concert at Bulgaria Hall, a programme shared between Mihail Angelov, Nayden Todorov and Martin Panteleev that ended with Panteleev's The Island.
