Mauricio Trejo

Working in opera and concert across the Italian and French repertoire, with Verdi and Puccini at its centre, the Mexican-Italian tenor Mauricio Trejo sang at the Lake Stage in Pravets on 19 July 2025 in Primadonna sotto le stelle, sharing the evening with the soprano Monica Conesa in a programme of music from Tosca, Otello, Adriana Lecouvreur, Manon Lescaut and Madama Butterfly. His stage roles reach beyond that concert to Cavalleria rusticana, Pagliacci, Turandot, La traviata and Rigoletto, sung in the United States, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East, and the Wagner Society of New York has singled him out among Wagnerian tenors. He has held a Plácido Domingo scholarship and a Panasonic prize, won the international Caruso competition and reached the final of the Turandot competition at the Arena di Verona as Calaf.
