Michał Grabarczyk

Grabarczyk was the soloist in the Kalisz Philharmonic's concert of 15 December 2000, given in the orchestra's home city. Grabarczyk was born in 1947 and studied at the Moscow Conservatory in the classes of Dmitry Tsyganov and Zoria Shikhmurzayeva. He took the sixth prize at the Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition in 1967 and the third prize at the Niccolo Paganini International Violin Competition in 1970. A full professor, he has taught at the music academies of Poznan and of Lodz, and has worked as concertmaster and soloist with the Chamber Orchestra of the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, with Wojciech Rajski's chamber orchestra and with Jerzy Maksymiuk's Polish Chamber Orchestra.
