Milcho Borovinov

Graz was where Milcho Borovinov specialised in music theatre, at the University of Music and Performing Arts, holding a scholarship from the Wagner Forum Graz; he had trained before that at the Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music in Sofia, and sang his first Sarastro — at the State Opera Stara Zagora in 2004 — while still a student. Prizes at several singing competitions followed. He has sung with Opera Plovdiv and as a guest in Mainz, Fulda and Remscheid, and joined the young singers' ensemble of Opera Ballet Vlaanderen. He was a member of Leipzig Opera from 2012 to 2016 and sang Titurel in Parsifal at the Salzburg Easter Festival in 2013.
