Miro Solman

Born Casimiro Busolin at Oderzo, near Treviso, the tenor Miro Solman studied with Enza Ferrari and then prepared his roles with Carlo Bergonzi at Busseto, winning the Toti Dal Monte, Adria and Palermo competitions before a debut in Madama Butterfly. He opened the 2000 season in Toulon with Simon Boccanegra, sang Radames in Zeffirelli's Aida at Busseto during the 2001 Verdi celebrations, added Arnoldo in Guglielmo Tell the following year and toured Europe in Otello in 2003; his Verdi Requiem was recorded at NHK in Tokyo the same year, and he sang Rossini's Stabat mater in Oslo in 2005. He has appeared at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, the Arena di Verona and the Teatro Regio in Parma and Turin, and directs the summer festival Opera in Piazza in his home town. He has also sung Jacopo Foscari in Maribor, and the Arnoldo was heard at Avenches.
