Soprano
Biography
Noboru Aomori left the vocal faculty of the Kunitachi College of Music for Italy on scholarships from the Recruit Foundation and the Japanese Agency for Cultural Affairs, having already taken the highest vocal award at the Music Competition of Japan, and made her debut in Palermo in Verdi's early comedy Un giorno di regno. Leading parts in Il trovatore, Turandot, Madama Butterfly, Aida and Tosca followed at the Salzburg Festival theatre, the Queen of the Night at the Bucharest National Opera, and roles in Nabucco, Macbeth, Don Carlo and Le nozze di Figaro. Between 2006 and 2012 her stage work carried her along a notably scattered circuit — Rousse and Burgas in Bulgaria, Solothurn, Alicante, and Wichita in Kansas — in Nabucco, Turandot and Così fan tutte among other pieces; in December 2006 she sang in The Magic Flute at the State Opera Rousse. She teaches bel canto and stagecraft in seminars in Japan and in Bulgaria, and directs the artistic organisation Dolce Canto. She won first prize at the Tortona international singing competition in 1992, and the Un giorno di regno debut, in 1995, was as the Marchesa. She sang with the baritone Leo Nucci in Italy in 2003 and recorded her first CD the year after.
