Mezzo-soprano
Biography
Singing and opera direction both appear on Oana Andra's diploma from the National University of Music Bucharest, and she joined the Bucharest National Opera as a soloist in 2001. The mezzo repertoire she built there — Mozart, Rossini, Verdi, Bizet and the French nineteenth century — has also taken her to La Fenice, the Opéra de Monte-Carlo, the Théâtre du Châtelet and the Royal Opera of Wallonia. She has been a prizewinner at the ARD, Queen Sonja, Geneva, Francisco Viñas and Boris Christoff competitions, and teaches opera and interpretation at the university that trained her.
