Biography
Beppe in Donizetti's Rita, in 2016, was Patricio Amaya's first leading operatic role, taken at the Teatro San Martín in Tucumán, the theatre whose chorus he had entered singing zarzuela. Two years later he won by audition both leading parts in the zarzuela La leyenda del beso together with a place in the theatre's permanent chorus, and in 2019 he took part in the première of Martín Palmeri's tango opera Stefano. Second prize at the Lírica Viva competition in Buenos Aires and a Mozarteum Argentino scholarship took him to Alejandra Malvino and Susana Cardonnet; he sang Basilio at the Saluzzo Opera Academy in 2021 and held a scholarship at the Berlin Opera Academy in 2023. Selected for Raina Kabaivanska's master class in Sofia, he continued with her in Modena on a New Bulgarian University scholarship, and joined the solo chorus of the Komische Oper Berlin.
