Plamen Troanski

Three Verdi productions — Rigoletto, Il trovatore and La traviata — and Shostakovich's Katerina Izmailova brought Plamen Troanski to State Opera Ruse between 2014 and 2016. Those four titles mark out the two poles of the company's work in those seasons: the Italian repertoire that fills a provincial house, and a twentieth-century Russian score that rarely reaches one.
