Biography
Uomini soli won the Sanremo Festival in 1990 — music by Facchinetti, words by Valerio Negrini — and was the last Pooh single to reach number one in Italy. Born Camillo Ferdinando Facchinetti in Bergamo on 1 May 1944, he joined Pooh in May 1966 as keyboard player and singer and, from the 1972 album Alessandra onward, became with guitarist Dodi Battaglia the group's principal composer, a role he held until its farewell in 2016. Tanta voglia di lei, Pensiero, Noi due nel mondo e nell'anima and Parsifal are his, most of them written with Negrini. A parallel solo discography runs from Roby Facchinetti in 1984 to Parsifal: l'uomo delle stelle in 2025. He returned to Sanremo in 2007 with his son Francesco and in 2018 with Riccardo Fogli.
