Roxana Herrera

Herrera graduated summa cum laude in singing from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, held a scholarship of the Teatro Municipal de Santiago for two consecutive years, and in 2013 completed master's programmes in Lied and oratorio and in opera at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg, both with the highest distinction. A year earlier she had joined the Plácido Domingo centre for advanced study at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia, singing in El dúo de la Africana, Così fan tutte, La bohème and Die Zauberflöte. She has studied with Raina Kabaivanska in Italy since 2014 and worked with Peter Kooij at the Händel-Akademie Karlsruhe in 2016. Haydn, Mozart, Bellini, Verdi, Puccini, Bizet and Menotti make up her repertoire, and she has been heard at the Teatro de la Zarzuela, in Italy, in Shanghai and in Norma at the Sofia Opera.
