Takako Umezu

Since 2014 Takako Umezu has studied in Rome, having trained before that at the Toho Gakuen School of Music and in the short-college programme of the International University of Kagoshima, in the prefecture she comes from. Competition results came quickly in 2015: third prize and a special commendation at the international competition for young musicians in Paola, and second prize with the Maria Callas Prize at the Vincenzo Bellini competition. A member of Fujiwara Opera, she appeared in the company's Don Giovanni in 2018, and sang in the gala of Raina Kabaivanska's Sofia master class on 24 September 2017 in company with Maritina Tampakopoulos, Marily Santoro and Yulia Samsonova-Khayet.
