Vera Girginova

Vera Girginova came out of the ranks of the young opera singers, taking prizes at the Ghena Dimitrova competition, the European singing competition in Spoleto in Italy and the international competition Alena Nikolay, and studying with Raina Kabaivanska, Anna Tomowa-Sintow, Anna Vachez, Mirella Parutto and others. A scholarship of the Ghena Dimitrova academy and one of the Boris Christoff foundation took her to Rome, to study at the Santa Cecilia academy and at the Opera Studio of the Teatro dell'Opera. She has sung with the Sofia Philharmonic in Sofia, Ruse and Pleven since 2009, among others with Diana Vasileva, Kiril Sharbanov and Dorotea Doroteeva, and on one occasion with Raina Kabaivanska. She graduated in architecture at the same time as in singing, in the class of Mila Dyulgerova, and her competition successes fall in 2009, 2010 and 2013. She also worked with Renata Scotto, Fiorenza Cossotto, Darina Takova and Stefka Evstatieva, and spent a period at the Chigiana Academy in Siena. Her stage roles include Donna Anna and Donna Elvira, Fiordiligi, the Countess and Rosina, Violetta, Gilda and Nannetta, Lauretta and Musetta, Tatyana and Adele, and she has sung as a soloist of the State Opera Plovdiv.
